The client’s challenge
Car store wanted to create a new way of buying a used car, moving away from the traditional car sales person pounding a car lot and pointing out different vehicles to a customer. The primary need then became a desire to create an engaging, welcoming sales centre rather than the all too familiar feeling of a traditional car showroom. Carstore wanted to give their customer a comfortable, friendly, welcoming environment with technology at the forefront of the sale process. To offer the car buyers a preview of their desired make, model, colour and specification of used car from UK wide stock without having the pressure of sitting in umpteen cars first without time to digest their options. To offer the customer a warm, family friendly environment with privacy to discuss financing options. Overall to change the concept of buying a used car.
We implemented various AV solutions throughout the dealerships in Chesterfield and Nottingham. We designed, manufactured and install a double sided daylight brightness digital totem at the head of the customer car park to give arriving clients a preview of the offerings and and special deals available. Once in the showroom they were presented with a 5m x 3m fine pitch LED wall raised above the ground floor and directly central to the entrance. This large LED was controlled via CMS to ‘push’ content to any screens at any time from head office. We also installed a 4m x 3m digital reception backdrop finished in the clients corporate colours and branding. This included back to back 65” digital signage panels. For the individual touch, we designed and built interactive sales booth tables which featured 32” interactive touch screens embedded into tables with a bespoke feature of being able to flip the screen image from sales consultant to client. We also installed screens into private consultation rooms and meeting rooms.
The implementation of digital and interactivity into the car showroom totally changed the look and feel for the client. All furniture was designed and built to follow the corporate branding, fitting seamlessly with other fixtures and fitting throughout the site. The external double sided digital totems were the first link to digital on the site and gave the arriving customers a hint of what was to follow, and also started the selling process before they left their own vehicle.
