Corner Block

Interactive Coffee Table and more

THE CLIENT

Corner Block stands prominently at the intersection of Deansgate and Quay Street. Surrounded by a number of established tech, digital and creative businesses, the area has evolved into a media hub.

THE CHALLENGE

As part of the full remodelling of the building, there was an evident need to introduce technology to strengthen and ease delivery of messages and collaboration within the building, particularly as it was in such a digitally focussed area of Manchester. Corner Block wanted to be able to access links to local amenities and attractions within close proximity of the site to entice businesses to the location whilst seeing the benefits the city has to offer, all available easily and visually.

THE SOLUTION

We implemented an integrated 55” Samsung digital display panel and an interactive coffee table complete with a cloud-based content management system and a custom-made decorative surround. This was designed to promote the location’s corporate identity and advertise the site to visitors and corporate guests alike. We designed a bespoke wall mounted framework system, to include a fret cut ‘Corner Block’ LED illumination. The content is fully updateable using a cloud based system and BrightSign player. The interactive table has links to local amenities and attractions within close proximity of the site to entice businesses to the location whilst seeing the benefits the city has to offer. The table was fully built by UXG including specified laminate and powder coated steel base, enclosing a 42” touch table and PC.

SUCCESS

The wall mounted display now presents a fresh focal point for visitors to immediately identify who they are looking for and what floor they are located on. It also helps to welcome visitors in general, displaying a wide variety of content including welcome pages, selected advertisements, a user-friendly tenant directory and  in-time updates on the weather, sports and news, inclusive of an RSS feed. The touch table is used to display presentations, allowing users to browse the internet to see the wider benefits of the office’s location in the city. The table raises engagement drastically, with its flexibility and exciting display techniques.
