THE CLIENT

Stafford’s new-look Gatehouse Theatre is the jewel in the crown of the county town covering big name acts and top touring companies to home-grown talent and our popular summer school shows. They also produce the prestigious annual Stafford Shakespeare production – now in its 30th year – in the grounds of Stafford Castle, which draws thousands of visitors from all over the UK and beyond.

Freedom Leisure is a genuine, proactive and innovative leisure trust providing their partners and customers with bespoke and unique services, including custodianship of Stafford Gatehouse Theatre.

THE CHALLENGE

Stafford Gatehouse was to undergo a full overhaul for a new look and the Freedom Leisure team wanted to introduce a variety of digital signage to support advertising and wayfinding. Budget was a restraint so they needed to ensure that the digital installed would have maximum impact and bring ROI.

THE SOLUTION

We worked with the theatre team to create a design that included 3 x 55” box office screens, a 43” screen in the bar and 2 x video wall portrait screen totems. All screens were finished off with our bespoke black surrounds. NowSignage was chosen as the preferred software package for content delivery and management. During the refurbishment programme the COVID-19 lockdown commenced, so the works were temporarily halted, but once we were allowed back to site, we completed the project maintaining absolutely minimum delays and utmost safety protocols.

SUCCESS

UXG designed and installed a very successful digital scheme at the theatre with a smooth installation ensuring it was fully up and running in time for the busy Christmas period. With training given on the software, the marketing team were able to update their content on a regular basis ensuring the customers were fully aware of what was happening.

**Update**

Since the install of this solution we have been back and installed a 55” touchscreen for tourist information as well as 2 x 32” advertising screens for the café area.
